Week 1 SMASHES In The Rankings
PLUS: Breakdowns for every game ...
A full slate of Sunday games used to keep my hands on the wheel morning, noon and night as I would tinker with my lineups.
But I'm a changed woman. Still the reigning champion in the Fantasy Life Dynasty League … But changed. Because I don't tinker anymore.
Dwain McFarland has saved me the trouble with his Start 'Em, Sit 'Em list for Week 1. You'll have to dive into all his breakdowns, but here are my favorites from his list:
QB Jared Goff | DET
Fantasy Projections
Median: 17.8
Xfinity Best (Ceiling): 21.9
Floor: 14.2
Detroit has two players ranked within the top-12 for fantasy purposes for a reason. The reason: This offense is fantasy gold.
Goff has consistently put up top-5 QB numbers year after year, despite his low ADP. It's why Matthew Berry has called Goff an "unsexy player who will help you win" in his 10 Lists of 10 for 2026.
And facing a beat-up Saints secondary, Dwain is pushing the hype further in Week 1 with Goff as his QB Start of the Week.
RB MarShawn Lloyd | GB
Fantasy Projections (PPR)
Median: 11.9
Xfinity Best (Ceiling): 19.5
Floor: 8.6
This has to be the most anticipated watch of the week for fantasy managers and analysts alike.
Everyone wants to know: Can Lloyd, who has been plagued by injuries and only carried the ball six times in 2024, settle into the Josh Jacobs role in Week 1?
He isn't going to carry your team, but Dwain's called him "a lock in 12-team leagues with two flex options" as a low-end RB2.
WR Chris Olave | NO
Fantasy Projections
Median: 16.5
Xfinity Best (Ceiling): 23.9
Floor: 12.4
Remember when Chris Olave finished the season with back-to-back top-2 WR finishes in Weeks 16 and 17? Ohhhh, I remember.
Week 16: 10-148-2
Week 17: 8-119-1
Can Tyler Shough keep the magic alive? All signs point to yes in Week 1 against Detroit. He's not just a 'start'; he's a full-on 'smash'.
Probably Didn’t Matter Anyways
QB Tua Tagovailoa | ATL
Unless you’re in deeper SuperFlex leagues, you shouldn’t need to move Tua Tagovailoa out of your starting lineup. But it’s worth noting that ATL ruled Tua out on Friday afternoon.
Cooper Rush will be starting in his absence, and with Tua’s aDOT of 7.2 yards in 2025, this has to be considered no less than a lateral move … Right?
And for the sickos…
Let's keep an eye on:
Ja'Kobi Lane - One of the most touted rookies in camp this offseason
Michael Mayer - Not Brock Bowers, but he'll do.

Kendall’s Key Questions For Week 1
Kendall and I did a show together this offseason (miss you, Kendall) that forces us to ask a lot of tough questions months away from any lineup decisions.
But now, the questions matter more than ever with Week 1 on the line. And Kendall is here to answer all of yours:
"Travis Kelce or Juwan Johnson?"
"Do any players scare you in Guillotine LeagueTM formats for Week 1?"
"Who is a potential sneaky flex play?"
"Do you miss me, too?" Sorry … This one's just for me.
