Wait, People Are Doing What?!

It's happening ...

Brace yourself.

What I’m about to say might shock you. It might confuse you.

Hell, it might horrify you.

But the fact of the matter is that the Super Bowl has not even been played yet and people are already drafting fantasy teams for 2025.

Pete Overzet

Case in point: Our very own Ian Hartitz and Chris Allen participated in a Way-Too-Early 2025 Mock Fantasy Draft with the crew over at NBC Sports and our friends at Underdog have already launched a handful of contests to satiate the sickest of Fantasy Football sickos.

And while there is a near-infinite amount of things to discuss, one ADP has perplexed me more than any other …

Can someone explain to me why the backup Chiefs RB is going in the sixth round of both that aforementioned mock draft and on Underdog?

I’m sorry, but that is just pure insanity.

His rushing attempt higher/lower for the Super Bowl is set at 6.5 attempts on Underdog. He had five last week.

And not only is he getting outplayed by a 29-year-old Kareem Hunt right now, but the Chiefs are a virtual lock to bolster this backfield in Free Agency, the NFL Draft, or both.

Even if Isiah Pacheco is still dealing with the effects of fracturing his fibula in Week 2, there are just way too many ways he doesn’t deliver on an RB20 price tag.

I truly could not fathom taking him ahead of Tyrone Tracy or Jaylen Warren, or literally 15 other backs I could name right now.

I’m not sure why I’m so worked up about this, but this ADP makes me viscerally angry.

I’ll get over it, carry on …

Tennessee Titans 2025 Team Needs

  • by Ian Hartitz

The Tennessee Titans blew a 17-point lead to the Bears in Week 1 and never looked back, limping to their fewest wins in a season since 2015.

Six consecutive losses to end the year really drove the point home—this is a BAD football team with very few cornerstones on either side of the football.

And yet, patience has been extended to Head Coach Brian Callahan, who now has the chance to perhaps select his QB of the future with the NFL Draft's No. 1 overall pick … if that is indeed what the Titans are interested in. President of Football Operations Chad Brinker said in January, “We won't pass on a generational talent with the first pick in the NFL draft. We won't do that.”

Will they pass up a QB with the No. 1 pick? Let’s see what their top needs are, starting at the most important position:

Draft a QB in the 2025 NFL Draft

Will Levis' aforementioned mediocre 2024 campaign and the potential absence of free agent Mason Rudolph leaves the Titans with the league's third-fewest 2025 dollars devoted to the position.

Fantasy Life NFL Draft analysts Thor Nystrom and Matthew Freedman understand this and accordingly have the Titans utilizing the NFL Draft's No. 1 overall pick on the position:

  • Thor: Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders

  • Freedman: Miami QB Cam Ward

Sam Darnold is the crown jewel of the otherwise meh free agent QB class. It'd be shocking if the Titans don't have new QB competition on the roster by the end of Day 2 of the NFL Draft at the very latest.

Tee Higgins Free Agency Landing Spots: Cincinnati, LA, or NE or ?

EDITORS’ NOTE: One of the most fascinating players heading into free agency is Tee Higgins. You know him well. He’s been a great sidekick to triple crown-winner Ja’Marr Chase and a prime target for Joe Burrow. If you had him in fantasy in 2024 and made it to the finals, you won when he put up 11-131-3 in Week 17, simply annihilating a solid Denver D. Now we wonder, will he return to the Bengals? Could teams from coast to coast wooh him away? Wherever he winds up, will he keep walking up a hill to practice? Sam Wallace, Mark Drumheller, and Jonathan Fuller chime in with all the possibilities.

Fantasy Life’s 2025 NFL Mock Draft—The Weird 5th Round

EDITORS’ NOTE: Ian Hartitz and Chris Allen hosted a 12-team mock draft, and you know … it got a little weird in the middle. Look, drafts are always going to get a little weird in the middle—especially in January—and it’s no secret that leagues are won and lost in these crucial rounds. But let’s take a look at how this played out just to show how 12 experts in a draft room operate in the cold winter months:

5.1 Jayden Daniels: Third QB off the board behind Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen

5.2 Khalil Shakir: 76/821/4 could jump up in 2025

5.3 Alvin Kamara: Could he have a career resurgence under … uhhh … “the new coach?”

5.4 Jameson Williams: Coming off a 1,000-yard, 7-TD season; is that his ceiling vs. Shakir’s higher upside?

5.5 George Pickens: Good luck projecting him until a QB is named—but even then does he move much?

5.6 Rome Odunze: Could Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams boost him to a JSN-style second-year leap?

5.7 Calvin Ridley: Just turned 30—does that still mean anything?

5.8 James Conner: Did you know Conner and Kamara are both younger than Ridley? Both are 29.

5.9 Brandon Aiyuk: Goes one pick before Deebo Samuel, even coming off a torn ACL.

5.10 Deebo Samuel: There was a time when he’d be considered a steal in the 5th—is he now a stretch here?

5.11 Sam LaPorta: Hopefully this is not the beginning of a Kyle Pitts career trajectory

5.12 Jerry Jeudy: TALK ABOUT A REDEMPTION ARC!

And if you thought the 5th was fun… wait until you see the 6th!
