Trade Madness Fallout

Let's pick up the pieces ...

Before March Madness kicks off today, we need to pick up some of the pieces from the trade madness we experienced in the NFL this week.

Are we worried about Malik Willis now? While it is pretty depressing how little help Willis has after Jaylen Waddle’s departure, most of his fantasy value stems from what he can do with his legs. As Ian Hartitz noted here in his rankings update, QBs who can hit 100-plus rushing attempts in a season—something Willis should be able to do in 2026—are a virtual lock (91%) to post top-12 fantasy numbers on a per-game basis.

Our rankings crew is holding strong on Willis with a consensus QB17 position—sandwiched between Kyler Murray and Jordan Love.

Will the Dolphins ship De’Von Achane now? I’m not sure I believe them, but the organization is adamant that Achane is not available for a trade. If I were blowing things up like Miami, trading a star RB would be high on my priority list. Would they really not take No. 32 overall from the Seahawks in exchange for him?

We still have Achane as a top-6 RB play, but I think it’s fair to worry about the offense collapsing.

Are the Dolphins a lock to take a WR in the first round? Matthew Freedman says not so fast. In his updated mock draft, he doesn’t have Miami taking a WR at either No. 11 or No. 30. Check out his selections for the ‘fins here.

Post-Free Agency Rankings: Dual Threat QBs Still Rule

The free agency dust has settled, and while we’re still thinking plenty about what the NFL Draft could do to our fair game, it’s time to take inventory of which players have moved in our fantasy rankings. Ian Hartitz ran through his ranks, and came across a few late-round quarterbacks who could be attractive once draft season approaches. And yes, they have the Konami Code in common.

  • Vikings QB Kyler Murray: While there's some question as to when/if Murray will lock down QB1 duties, we're still looking at someone with a history of scoring 20-plus fantasy points per game suddenly inside most people's idea of a great offensive environment.

  • Dolphins QB Malik Willis: Yes, any conversation surrounding Willis is required to point out the small-sample size involved. Also yes, the man has made the most out of his opportunities and possesses the sort of rushing ability to work as a great fantasy QB even if he winds up being more of a meh real-life signal-caller.

Plus, there is a TE teaming up with an old friend who could be a sleeper this season. ⤵️
