Three Trade Targets In Dynasty

One's an underrated gem in Seattle...

One of my favorite features on Fleaflicker—one of our partners at Fantasy Life—is being able to see who the players are that are currently the most traded for in active leagues.

It's a great way to gain valuable insight into what other dynasty managers are doing at this time of year. It's one thing to crowd-source information on players you like, but it's another thing entirely to get accurate info from managers playing in the same ecosystem you are.

As I sifted through the list, three players stuck out to me—all at different offensive positions—and they’re players I feel strongly about in dynasty formats, so let’s dive into each …

Trevor's Long-Awaited Breakout

The quarterback who topped the "most traded for" list this week is none other than Trevor Lawrence. This is great news for me because I've spilled more than enough ink in his favor this offseason, so I'm certainly hoping for big things.

Last summer, Lawrence signed a five-year/$275M deal that keeps him under contract through 2030. He also has a new head coach in Liam Coen. As for weapons, you already know—rising star Brian Thomas Jr. and collegiate all-star Travis Hunter.

Plus, the rushing attack has more than enough weapons to make this an offense I want as many pieces of as I can.

I love seeing other dynasty managers taking aim at Lawrence and adding him to their rosters. Earlier this offseason, I even went so far as to say I'd trade an early first-round pick to acquire him.

Lawrence is the perfect QB2 to add to any and all Superflex rosters.

Seattle's Underrated Weapon

All the moving pieces in Seattle this offseason have been a bit tough to follow. Here are the headline players after a busy few months …

  • QB - Sam Darnold

  • WRs - Jaxon Smith-Njigba & Cooper Kupp

Veterans DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett are also no longer with the team.

While all eyes are on the QB & WR positions, where dynasty managers should really be focusing their attention is on the backfield—specifically Kenneth Walker, who is the most-traded-for RB over the last week.

Now that Nick Chubb has entered the back half of his career, I'd argue Walker is one of the best pure rushers in the league. In his three-year career (41 games), here are his per-game averages:

  • 14.6 rushing attempts

  • 61.6 rushing yards (4.2 YPC)

  • 26 total TDs

He's also steadily increased his involvement in the passing game, hauling in 46 receptions for almost 300 yards this past season.

Yes, Zach Charbonnet will siphon away about 100 rushing attempts of his own, if his past involvement says anything, but I believe Walker is too talented not to remain the firm 1A for this backfield. I'm with the Fleaflicker dynasty community … go get Walker.

The Chiefs' Aerial Return

Here's something I still find hard to believe—Patrick Mahomes failed to throw for 4,000 yards last season for the first time in his career. He also tied his career-low in passing TDs (26).

It sounds like Mahomes and the Chiefs are seeking to return to their high-flying, explosive ways this season, and dynasty managers are taking notice.

The most added wideout in Fleaflicker this week is none other than Rashee Rice.

Yes, Xavier Worthy profiles more as a typical downfield threat, especially since the last time we saw him on the field when he was lighting it up in the Super Bowl, but Rice is the preferred target among many.

You already know how involved Rice was for the first three games of last season before he went down with a knee injury. It sounds like he's making phenomenal progress, and the narrative around Kansas City is that he's looking like himself again.

The presence of other talented pass-catchers like Worthy, Hollywood Brown, and Travis Kelce could limit the upside of any singular player, but Rice offers the perfect blend of age, usage, and high-floor/ceiling that dynasty managers should be targeting across their leagues.
