Three Interesting NFL Rumors

But I only like two ...

Matthew dropped one of my favorite fantasy columns of the year earlier this week—35 Interesting Things He Heard At 2026 NFL Combine.

Despite missing the press conferences, he pounded the pavement the rest of the weekend so he could serve up the fantasy community with as many juicy nuggets as he could get his hands on.

Some of the rumors came to fruition yesterday—like the Cardinals’ release of Kyler Murray and the Jets tagging Breece Hall—but a lot of dominoes still have to fall.

I recommend reading the whole thing, but here are two rumors that I really hope come true (and one that I hope does not) …

✅ Travis Etienne to the Chiefs? It’s been painful watching the Chiefs running game these past few years. Etienne would give them an explosive, three-down back—something they haven’t had in ages. He’d immediately become a Top-25 fantasy asset (his current ADP is 36, fwiw).

Let’s just ignore the other team floated for Etienne in the piece …

✅ Mike Evans to the Bills? I’ll never forget (or forgive) the fact that Josh Allen, who is squarely in his prime, was throwing to Khalil Shakir and 32-year-old Brandin Cooks in a Divisional Round playoff game. A big-bodied outside WR with Evans’ pedigree would be a godsend for both the Buffalo passing game and his fantasy value.

Tell me where I need to sign to make this happen.

😡 Kenneth Walker to the Giants? I do not like this rumor at all, although it would be a quintessential NYG move to overpay for a FA running back despite having just finished fifth in the NFL in rushing with a perfectly serviceable duo of Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy (not to mention a rushing QB in Jaxson Dart).

Hear me out … I know exactly where Walker should sign … it would be a perfect fit … a little place in the Pacific Northwest called … Seattle.

Years Of Guarantees With Josh Allen

If you’ve had Josh Allen in fantasy any year since 2020, you’ve been more than happy. He’s been the QB1 five times in that span, the only year he didn’t finish up top being 2022 when he fell all the way to QB2. He just finished his followup to his 2024 NFL MVP season with 3,668 passing yards and 25 TDs, adding 579 rushing yards and 14 more scores on the ground. Betting against him continuing his fantasy dominance for another five years would be ill-advised.

That’s exactly what the Xfinity 5-Year Price Guarantee means for your wallet: 5 years. The same price. No contracts or commitments. Just peace of mind knowing your connection, and your cost, will go the distance. Sports can be unpredictable, but your internet price doesn’t have to be. March is here, more daylight is coming and there’s a hint of a spring thaw. Need more of a hint in some parts. Meanwhile, don’t miss this great content …

We know where to slot Trey McBride, but is Colston Loveland ready to join him? Kendall Valenzuela sized up the TE class and placed them into these five buckets.

Yes, Mike Washington’s arrow is pointing upward. Coach Gene Clemons ranked the top 21 NFL Draft prospects at the RB position.

It’s simple: when Joe Burrow remains upright and plays 17 games, he’s an MVP candidate. Ian Hartitz placed offensive line improvement as one of the team needs for the Bengals.

Free Agent QBs: Get Ready For Some Fun

We’ve already seen the QB merry-go-round add to free agency (Kyler Murray) and take away (Daniel Jones gets tagged and remains a Colt). It’s just the tip of the iceberg, friends. And free agency doesn’t REALLY start for another week (March 11).

But that didn’t stop Ian Hartitz from dropping the best QB free agents set to hit the market, along with all those who could be traded during the frenzy to fill all the signal-calling seats in this nutty game of NFL musical chairs. Whether you like your quarterbacks old (Aaron Rodgers), new (Malik Willis) or gently used (Marcus Mariota), these and so many more are going to change addresses in the weeks ahead. Buckle up. ⤵️

NFL Draft QB Rankings: Mendoza to Moss

Who says the number 13 is unlucky? Ask Dan Marino. Kurt Warner. Brock Purdy. Yes, even Taylor Swift. Matthew Freedman turned it up to 13 in the number of quarterbacks he ranked ahead of the NFL Draft. Fernando Mendoza was the easy No. 1, but he kept going to No. 13 with Louisville’s Miller Moss. In between are so many names that were first-round projections before last season as well as some who were relative unknowns for non-ball knowers. Freedman checked in on Drew Allar, one of the players who had early hype before his fortunes changed last season.

Allar's season-ending ankle injury and final-year regression (career-low 7.1 AY/A) will push him to Day 2, but he has Round 1 tools with a Sunday frame and primetime arm. When clean, he's maybe the cohort's cleanest QB.
