The Week 18 Hero Will Be ...

Envelope please

Week 18 is always pure chaos, but this one feels even more out of control than previous years.

Sure, there are important games on the line that will determine playoff berths and specific seeds, but there are also a ton of teams that have either been eliminated or have nothing to play for.

Depending on your outlook, this is either dizzying or a welcomed challenge (s/o Waz for spearheading our Week 18 ranks, btw).

Below are a handful of candidates who are positioned to be the Week 18 hero who randomly pops up for a monster game.

Jaylen Wright - De’Von Achane is out, and the Patriots rush defense has been leaky of late. Wright has been the clear No. 2 behind Achane in recent weeks and should see 15+ touches in this spot. With 4.38 speed, he could easily make some noise today.

Eagles WRs - Philly is resting all of their starters today, which means we are going to get Tanner McKee throwing to Jahan Dotson, Darius Cooper and Grant Calcaterra. That might sound gross, but 1) McKee finished as QB14 in last year’s Week 18 game, and 2) the Commanders give up the seventh-largest boost to opposing WRs. We like Dotson the most of the bunch, fwiw.

Darius Slayton - No Wan’Dale Robinson, which means the veteran deep ball specialist is going to get all of the targets he can handle vs. a paper-thin Cowboys secondary. Giddy up.

Jaydon Blue - Well, the moment we’ve all been waiting for, when we drafted Blue this summer, thinking he’d be the exciting rookie who would take over the Dallas backfield in swift order, is finally here. No Javonte Williams, no Malik Davis. Sure, we could see a little Hunter Luepke, but you have to imagine the ‘Boys want to see what their rookie can do before heading into the offseason.

DFS Projections: Bijan Can Break The Week 18 Slate

So much for the fantasy offseason, especially when there is still the wild and wonderful Week 18 and a banging Sunday DFS slate to play. One of the best players this season has been Bijan Robinson, he of 2,255 scrimmage yards and 11 total TDs. He just torched the Rams for 37.4 fantasy points to launch many people’s fantasy championships. Up next is a season finale set up against the Saints, who allow 106.1 rushing yards to running backs and may be just a small deterrent for Robinson to send a message into the offseason.

If you want to build a roster with Robinson, the Fantasy Life DFS Projections provide the outlook for what could be a big day—his ceiling projection is 32.3 fantasy points. But don’t stop with Robinson. Take a look at all the players you’re targeting to play to see how they’re likely to perform so you can build the winning lineup.
