The Fantasy Gods Are Toying With Us
Embrace the chaos of Jameis Winston Week.
If I had told you in the offseason that Trey McBride would lose his starting QB in Week 5 and go on to score back-to-back-to-back-to-back TDs with Jacoby Brissett … You would've asked if I had eaten any hallucinogens.
Trey McBride TDs:
2022: 1
2023: 3
2024: 2
2025: 6 (!)
If I had told you in Week 2 that Joe Flacco would take over as the Bengals’ QB1, averaging more fantasy points per game (25.5) than Joe Burrow EVER has … You would've asked me if I was abusing any medications.
Joe Burrow FPPG:
2020: 18.07
2021: 20.52
2022: 21.70
2023: 15.32
2024: 22.46
2025: 7.93
And if I had told you in Week 7 that TreVeyon Henderson would score 5 TDs across two games … You would've handed me grippy socks and had me committed.
TreVeyon Henderson's rollercoaster ride:
Weeks 1-7: 153 yards, 1 TD
Weeks 10-11: 209 yards, 4 rush TD, 1 rec TD
But truth is proving to be much stranger than fiction in the NFL. And I've finally accepted the fact that the fantasy gods are toying with us.
Rather than fight it, I've decided to embrace it.
Embracing Chaos in Week 11
WHO CARES if the Packers haven't allowed a QB to throw 3 TDs against them since Week 4? And who cares if Green Bay is giving up the fewest yards per pass attempt in the entire f*cking league? And so what if Darius Slayton just got ruled out?
It's Jameis MF'in Winston week and I'm praying to the fantasy gods for the game of a lifetime.

Week 11 WR/CB Matchups: New QB, No Worries Nico
When looking at the injury report and seeing that C.J. Stroud is out, it’s easy to think downgrade for Nico Collins with Davis Mills under center. Chris Allen advises you to think again:
“The simple solution is to ‘start your studs.’ And Nico Collins is one of them. He has top-20 marks among all WRs in every opportunity metric. Accordingly, he’s been the Texans’ WR1 in all but two contests—one of which he only played less than 60% of the snaps. But the real concern came with Davis Mills starting in place of C.J. Stroud last week (and will likely happen in Week 11) and its impact on Collins. Luckily, Mills graduated from the ‘just-throw-it-to-your-good-players’ school of thought.”
Chris’ Week 11 WR/CB Matchups offers more reasons why Collins is looking at a premium opportunity for a big game in Tennessee this week. And there are more players who are easy starts this week, plus one where you must beware. ⤵️

Mismatch Report: Join Hands On The Jordan Love Train
It sure was a tough watch for the Packers-Eagles on Monday Night Football, for those who were able to watch. The combination of the Philly pass rush and ace DBs made it a tough night all around for Jordan Love and his receivers. However, Ian Hartitz pointed out in the Week 11 Mismatch Report that things could be quite different against the Giants this week:
“It's hard to not be intrigued by the bounceback potential for these Packers WRs—particularly given the Giants defense's status as:
Bad (7th most PPR points per game allowed to opposing WRs)
Man-coverage heavy (3rd most man-heavy defense in the league)
Who are the players that Love could be targeting more frequently this week? And is there a wild card who could pop? Ian’s weekly drop of the biggest mismatches answers these questions and is just full of so much more information. ⤵️
NFL Draft
Top-75 Big Board: Who is Going to be QB1?
Can you feel it? College football Saturdays are getting a little more intense, with conference races heating up and the playoff spots starting to come into focus. Same goes for the Heisman Trophy race. It’s also getting to be time to look ahead to next April with the NFL Draft. That means we’re about to start our yearly obsession over quarterbacks. And there are plenty who are going to be in the race for the first one off the board.
Thor Nystrom has released his Top-75 Big Board, with QBs Ty Simpson and Fernando Mendoza early contenders to be the first signal-caller off the board. Here’s Thor’s quick hit on Mendoza:
“Mendoza is a big, strapping pocket passer who excels within structure. He keeps his head about him under pressure, and he’s willing to take a hit to deliver a strike, like he did on his viral game-winning TD pass to Omar Cooper to beat Penn State over the weekend. The question with Mendoza is out-of-structure play, but that weakness won’t keep him out of Round 1 in April.”
As is always the case with the draft, offensive and defensive linemen will be flying off the board early. But there are plenty WRs and several more QBs under consideration. Check out Thor’s Top 75.⤵️
