Our Hero Says "Not So Fast"

Travis Hunter debates ...

A lot has changed across the fantasy football landscape in the past year, but one thing that remains unchanged is the never-ending debate about what position Travis Hunter plays for the Jags.

If you need a quick refresher, Hunter mostly played WR last year (324 offensive snaps vs. 162 on defense) before his season was cut short in Week 9.

So where does that leave us for 2026?

Well, we got our first “data point” last week when Ian Rapoport shared that Hunter was recovering “exceptionally” well from his LCL tear and that they expect him to be a full-time corner and part-time WR in 2026.

Record scratch?

As you can imagine, the “told ya so’s” and victory laps were flying from the “Hunter is a DB crowd.”

But then over the weekend, Mr. Hunter himself went full Lee Corso with a Not so fast, my friend” and cast doubt on the original report.

And then yesterday, Adam Schefter weighed in on the Pat McAfee show with a bit more nuance on the situation:

“The plans are to use him at WR … again, just like they did last year … and have his snaps spike at the cornerback position.”

So where does that leave us? Exactly where we started, I believe.

The key reminder in all of this, as Schefter notes, is that it is April. We are still five months away from Hunter scoring (or not scoring) points for our fantasy teams.

I continue to think he represents one of the best asymmetric bets you can make at the WR position in the late rounds of current drafts, but I ultimately prefer a “strong opinions, weakly held” approach to fantasy football before the flowers have even bloomed.

Chase Glory For The Next 5 Years

The accomplishments are already significant for Ja’Marr Chase. OROY in 2021, compiling 1,455 receiving yards and 13 TDs. Again, he was a rookie! An otherworldly 127-1,708-17 Triple Crown season in 2024. Last season, with QB Joe Burrow missing nine games, Chase still posted a solid 125-1,412-8. He’s 26 and that’s his floor production. You can lock him in for more big production the next five seasons, and likely beyond.

New Faces/New Places: Travis Etienne in a Timeshare?

When the Saints signed Travis Etienne at the height of NFL free agency, it appeared that Alvin Kamara was on his way out of New Orleans. Maybe toward retirement. That would leave Etienne in a bell cow role that had fantasy managers salivating. Well, here we are a month later, and Kamara has been talked about by HC Kellen Moore as someone who will be a part of that backfield. That prompted Adam Pfeifer to explore Etienne’s situation, as well as that of other players on new teams:

Throughout his time as a playcaller, Moore hasn’t really used multiple running backs all that much. But to be fair, he coached prime Ezekiel Elliott in Dallas from 2019-2021, as well as MVP candidate Saquon Barkley with the Eagles in 2024. Perhaps we could see Etienne and Kamara on the field together some this season. The Saints need more help at wide receiver after Chris Olave, so giving Kamara some slot snaps could be an intriguing idea.

If this does become a committee, at least the play volume will be there. Moore’s offenses have always been fast-paced, and that didn’t change in his first year in New Orleans. Last season, the Saints ranked second in no-huddle rate (22.7%), while no team averaged more plays per minute (2.2).

Jaxson Dart: Running Into A League Winner

When Jaxson Dart took over as the starting QB for the Giants, he very much lived up to the hype as a dual-threat QB. While his surpassing 200 yards passing in six of those 12 starts was a great, um, start, Dart’s rushing for 487 yards and 9 touchdowns will have him firmly on the radar for fantasy managers looking to wait at QB. That’s why Kendall Valenzuela identified Dart as a possible league winner:

Once Dart was named the starting quarterback in Week 4, the fantasy upside was palpable. His 13% designed rush share was second among all signal-callers, and during that span, Dart averaged 20.5 points per game (8th). Throughout the whole season, Dart averaged the third-most fantasy points per dropback (0.66).

So, can we get this for a full season? The Giants tabbed John Harbaugh as their new head coach, and he has gotten to work over the offseason, ensuring he's building the team around the quarterback and creating a “high-powered offense.”

Dart completed a league-low 34% of his passes under pressure this past season, and Harbaugh's experience building around a quarterback with dual-threat ability will certainly help elevate his game. The second-year quarterback also must focus on protecting himself in 2026. Last season, Dart entered the NFL’s concussion protocol four times in four months, and while everyone loves to see gritty players, the Giants and Harbaugh must focus on the fine line between Dart's fearless mindset and putting himself in harm’s way.

Along with Dart, we have more potential league winners for the coming season:
