Listen Up!

My husband recently told me he doesn’t love me anymore. Well, the actual words that came out of his mouth were: “You’re in way too many fantasy football leagues.”

But still. I know what I heard!

As a self-proclaimed “Good Listener,” I’m bringing my skills to you. Here are the words that came out of the mouths of the NFL and how I heard it.

Rams GM, Les Snead, on Los Angeles’ backfield

His words: “We do think … that having a committee, and a committee with different skill sets, only helps us continue being able to run the football.”

What I heard: “After two consecutive 1,000+ yard seasons with double-digit TDs, it’s become way too easy for fantasy managers to draft Kyren Williams. I want them to second-guess themselves while drafting. They don’t deserve happiness. Blake Corum time?”

Falcons OC Zac Robinson on what he’d like to see from Kyle Pitts in 2025.

His words: “… what we’re looking for from Kyle is just that next level of understanding of the offense and the intent of what we’re trying to get done. And then, just ultimately, play fast no matter what.”

What I heard: “These fantasy managers are right. 10 TDs in four years is not going to cut it. Have you seen Brock Bowers? He scored more TDs in his rookie season than Kyle Pitts has in any season … EVER. Draft Brock Bowers.”

Jets HC, Aaron Glenn, on Garrett Wilson. 

His words: “Give him the ball as much as possible. Give him the ball as much as possible. That’s it.”

What I heard: “Garrett Wilson is Mike Evans 2.0. This year is going to be his fourth consecutive 1k season. What else are we going to do? Throw the ball to Allen Lazard?”

Colts GM Chris Ballard on rookie TE Tyler Warren

His words: “He runs through people and over people.”

What I heard: “We can’t rely on our QBs, but we can rely on Tyler Warren. Tyler Warren is our offense now.”

Aaron Rodgers on whether he’d ever consider playing for the Saints.

His words: “No. That’s the answer.”

What I heard: “No. I don’t want to be second fiddle to Tyler Shough.”
