K9 Heading to KC?

PLUS: Alec Pierce is a man in demand

NFL legal tampering officially gets started at noon ET on Monday, and we’ve already got a TON of rumors circulating about some of the biggest names available on the open market.

Lucky for us, the people’s insider “Rickey” has returned to Twitter/X to grace football fans with some potential insider info.

Yes, Rickey is an unverified dog-avatar account that has been wrong before. Also, yes, unlike the vast majority of NFL “insiders,” Rickey attempts to report news well before pen is officially put to paper. It’s a refreshing change of pace from the usual NFL news world full of aggregation and reporters waiting to get the OK from agents before saying pretty much anything of substance.

Dogged NFL Free Agency Rumors

The following fantasy-relevant nuggets should thus be taken with a grain of salt, but dammit we got some juicy stuff potentially going down!

  • Giants slot WR Wan’Dale Robinson joining Brian Daboll with the Titans is the “worst-kept secret in the league.” Good news for Wan’Dale, bad news for Chimere Dike truthers.

  • The Patriots are “going to throw a bag” at Colts field-stretcher Alec Pierce. Fantasy Life’s Peter Overzet has confirmed that yes, this is a great fit.

  • The favorite to land Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker is … the Kansas City Chiefs?! Currently, yes, although the Giants have also been interested. Kansas City’s interest was also reported by Senior NFL Reporter Albert Breer

K9 to the Chiefs wouldn’t have seemed possible a few days ago, but the Chiefs’ decisions to restructure Patrick Mahomes’ contract, trade CB Trent McDuffie and release OT Jawaan Taylor as well as DE Mike Danna, have opened up a lot of cap space.

Bringing in Walker would fill a major need with pint-sized second-year RB Brashard Smith being the team’s only RB under contract at the moment. There’s also the reality that Chiefs RBs were pretty damn rough last season as a group.

Chiefs running backs in 2025:

  • Yards per carry: 3.7 (30th)

  • Yards after contact per carry: 2.6 (31st)

  • Tackles avoided per carry: 14% (31st)

  • Explosive run rate: 3% (32nd)

Walker is currently priced as the RB14 in early Underdog best ball drafts. Landing with Mahomes and company could instantly vault him into the top-10 conversation alongside guys like Ashton Jeanty and Omarion Hampton … while going to the Giants and potentially entering another committee could lead to lower-end RB2 treatment.

Either way: Buckle your seat belts, the NFL offseason is alive, baby—just look at what happened last night! THIS LEAGUE.

FANTASY

Introducing the Cast of 2026 Wide Receiver Free Agents

Hide your kids, hide your wife, push those real-life responsibilities back another week: NFL free agency is HERE, baby!

Today, we'll celebrate the upcoming mid-March holiday by breaking down the top wide receivers set to hit the open market.

Main Character: Alec Pierce

  • Key numbers: 1,003 yards in 15 games in 2025. The field-stretching maven has led the NFL in yards per reception and yards per target in each of the past two seasons.

Pierce's field-stretching speed is a superpower that literally every offense in the NFL would love to have. This man constantly creates separation downfield and is good enough at the catch point to turn 50/50 situations into 70/30 propositions in his favor.

While Pierce would help elevate pretty much any NFL offense, two AFC East squads seem particularly enticing matches.

  • Most fun potential landing spot: Cap space issues aside, it's easy to envision Alec Pierce functioning as a high-end Gabe Davis and hauling in deep bombs from Josh Allen for the Buffalo Bills. His deep speed could also help dissuade defenses from devoting too many resources to stopping the run game—James Cook and Bills RBs faced eight-plus defenders in the box at the league's second-highest rate in 2025.

  • Most likely potential landing spot: The Colts seemed like the frontrunner, but their failure to get something done before free agency isn't ideal. If you're into unverified dog-avatar insiders, then it might just be the Patriots! This adds up considering New England's previous big-time interest in Chris Godwin last year. While Pierce's skill set overlaps a bit with Kayshon Boutte and Kyle Williams, he'd still profile as a great fit next to Drake Maye (Fantasy Life's Peter Overzet can confirm).

Congrats to Pierce on becoming a very rich man very soon.

Dynasty

Combine Impact on Dynasty: Take a Chance on Sadiq

We couldn’t help thinking of our Dynasty rosters while draft prospects were flying all over Lucas Oil Field at the NFL Scouting Combine. Jake Trowbridge started dreaming on drafting several players, including a certain tight end from Oregon:

Kenyon Sadiq, TE: As I said, I’m more than happy to take a risk on Sadiq, who just beat Vernon Davis’ longstanding record to become the fastest tight end in the history of the 40-yard dash. In fact, he’s got a slight edge over Jordyn Tyson for me due to positional scarcity. The words “faster Kyle Pitts with legitimate blocking ability” rattle around in my brain, and then I can’t stand up for a few minutes.

It’s never too early to start thinking of Dynasty Rookie Drafts, so see what other players could be rising up draft boards in the weeks ahead.
