Just three games separate us from the dreaded offseason, when suddenly things like "family" and "responsibility" become potential cornerstones of any given Sunday. Sigh.

That said: It's not all doom and gloom when the clock strikes midnight on the 2024-25 NFL season thanks to the reality that it's NEVER too early to start prepping for the NFL Draft!

Ian Hartitz

Accordingly, Fantasy Life College Football & NFL Draft analyst Thor Nystrom is BACK with his latest mock draft—and a few picks in particular are VERY intriguing when considering their potential implications on the 2025 fantasy football landscape.

👀 1. Tennessee Titans: Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders

One of the more divisive prospects of the 2025 NFL Draft is fresh off an eighth-place Heisman Trophy finish that featured Big 12 high marks in passing yards (4,134) and TDs (37) in just 13 games.

While doubters will point to Sanders' tendency to take sacks (90 in 2023 and 2024, combined) and his lack of overwhelming physical gifts, the 22-year-old talent has flashed some true off-script excellence as well as the ability to throw from different arm angles–two traits that are valued more in 2025 than ever before.

Adding Sanders to this Titans offense could be a major boon for WR Calvin Ridley, who led the NFL in unrealized air yards last season while dealing with the Will Levis experience. Overall, the Titans' 18.7% "bad-throw rate" was the fifth-worst mark of last season—the bar for improvement here isn't overly high.

🚀 9. New Orleans Saints: Alabama QB Jalen Milroe

The verdict remains out on whether or not Milroe has the passing chops to lead a modern NFL offense. Of course, the man can run! Even with sack yardage counting against rushing totals in college …

  • 2023: 161 rushes, 531 yards, 12 TD

  • 2024: 168 rushes, 726 yards, 20 TD

Historically, QBs with this sort of potential high-end rushing volume seldom bust in fantasy land, meaning Milroe could quickly emerge as a fantasy star, even if his real-life trajectory takes a bit to catch up. His potentially uneven passing wouldn't be ideal for the ceilings of Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed; just realize the Saints are certainly a contender to start looking at options for their post-Derek Carr "era."

🤠 12. Dallas Cowboys: Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty

Fantasy Life's Matthew Freedman wrote the following about Jeanty in his way-too-early rankings for 2025:

"And my favorite might be rookie Ashton Jeanty. In the early rounds, I tend not to focus too much on league-winning upside—but I think there's a good chance that the market will be too low (at least at first) on Jeanty.

As excellent as WRs Travis Hunter and Tetairoa McMillan and QBs Shedeur Sanders and Cameron Ward are, I believe that Jeanty (374-2,601-29 rushing, 23-138-1 receiving) was the best player in College Football last year and the one with a skill set that most obviously translates to the NFL.

Regardless of where he lands, I can imagine Jeanty being drafted as the RB1 in 2026 fantasy drafts, and that's because I can envision him producing like the RB1 as a rookie in 2025."

Only the Chiefs and Steelers currently have fewer 2025 dollars devoted to their RB room than the Cowboys. With Rico Dowdle set to hit free agency, this pairing would make a LOT of sense—and it would QUICKLY make Jeanty a candidate to go in Round 1 of 2025 fantasy drafts.

I cannot close things out without shouting out my beloved Ohio State for winning the national championship. It’s a great day to be a Buckeye!

2025 NFL Mock Draft: Three Reasons Why Travis Hunter Will Be a Brown

  • By Thor Nystrom

This is the second mock draft that Thor Nystrom has created. Here is the first one. Plenty of change happened over the previous couple weeks. Let’s dive in to see what Thor has uncovered at the top.

1. Tennessee Titans (3-14) – Shedeur Sanders | QB | Colorado

Last week, the Titans hired former Kansas City Chiefs assistant GM Mike Borgonzi as their new general manager, replacing Ran Carthon. Borgonzi’s tenure with the Titans will be determined by one of his first decisions: Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward?

Until we have more information, I’m keeping Sanders, my QB1 in the class, in this slot. Titans offensive assistant Payton McCollum has been named a QB coach for the West Team at the Shrine Bowl later this month. McCollum will coach Sanders at the event, giving the organization early boots-on-the-ground intel.

Sanders was a clearly superior player to Ward prior to this past season. As for 2024, Sanders’ metrics compare favorably to Ward’s. Sanders had an exceptional 4.3 big-time throw-to-turnover-worthy play rate; Ward’s was 1.8.

Ward’s turnover-worthy play rate of 3.1 was nearly three times higher than Sanders’ (1.2). Meanwhile, the ultra-accurate Sanders finished more than five points ahead of Ward in adjusted accuracy percentage (81.6% to 76.3%).
