Flipping Out Over Skattebo

Schrödinger's running back ...

I'll say it: Cam Skattebo is Schrödinger's draft pick.

He is simultaneously one of the best and worst options waiting for you in the fourth round in 2026

It's why Skattebo is the only player in our rankings who holds all three designated player tags of:

  • My Guy

  • Risky

  • Upside Play

Because despite the risk, it's hard to look away, isn't it?

Last season, Skattebo finished his eight-game stint with 617 yards and 7 TDs. And he's currently projected to almost double his rookie-season output with 222 carries for 843 yards and 7 TDs (with another 300+ yards and 2 TDs through the air).

If those predictions come to fruition, his RB19 price tag doesn't seem so bad after all.

The problem is that Cam Skattebo's biggest opposition is Cam Skattebo.

If there were a body-care scale for RBs, one side would feature Derrick Henry, who spends $250k on nutrition and maintenance every year. And the other side of the scale would be Cam Skattebo, legs braced, still running straight into walls.

Skattebo's college-era pre-game ritual of headbutting brick walls was alarming enough during his "younger days." But it hasn't stopped there. As recently as just this weekend, the bruising RB found himself in a real "oh sh*t, that was close" moment during a botched backflip that had fans sweating bullets at Fanatics Fest.

Because oh sh*t. That really was close.

While I'm not saying you should avoid Skattebo in your drafts solely because he has a propensity for flinging his body through the air or flinging himself at immovable objects, I am saying that we haven't opened Schrödinger's box yet.

And if you draft Skattebo, you have to be prepared for what happens when the lid comes off.

Be the Smartest Guy in the Room

Imagine Derrick Henry being Derrick Henry—while also grabbing 6 receptions a game. Matthew Stafford doing Matthew Stafford things—and toting the rock for 50 yards per week. Rashid Shaheed going off for 1,200 yards, 10 scores ... and his usual backbreaking return TDs.

When you get the high performance you expect, but also bunch of extras on top, you look pretty smart. That's Blackwood For Men—premium Natural grooming that works great and smells amazing, but also has added benefits like reduced inflammation, better circulation and faster cell repair. The difference is Japanese Botanical Boosts you won't find in other products—things like Ginseng, Rice Extract and Green Tea—which help to support hair growth, fend off aging and speed recovery. That's added value. And here's more: use code FANTASYBFM20 to save an extra 20% off your entire order. There, now you're the smartest, and best-looking, guy in the room.

TE Tiers: Coming Down To Earth

As a bona fide rookie-TE lover, I'm exactly the type of fantasy player who needs Dwain McFarland to pull me back down to Earth.

We won't have a 2023 Sam LaPorta or a 2024 Brock Bowers rookie season every single year. And even if we could, only one leaguemate is allowed to draft them. So I need to be prepared for anything when it comes to the position.

Dwain's TE Tiers are the single-most-valuable tool you could need heading into your drafts.

Tier 1 feels somewhat obvious, with Trey McBride and Brock Bowers. But the following tier breaks are worth scouting:

Tier 2

  • Colston Loveland

  • Tyler Warren

Tier 3

  • Tucker Kraft

  • Kyle Pitts

Tier 4

  • Sam LaPorta

  • ??

I hate to say it, but Dwain has me back in on Kyle Pitts. And there's plenty of late-round TE fliers worth targeting.

Mad Max Theory Means You’re Never Leaving

We all have that one league (or more, if you're lucky) that we're NEVER going to leave.

The Mad Max Theory explains why.

Because, despite what you've been convinced to believe, the ultimate currency in fantasy football is not the championship. It's the validation we get from being witnessed in our highest highs and lowest lows each week. It's got everything to do with our metaphorical War Boys.

The Mad Max Theory is why the best leagues can survive arguments, turnover and even collusion.
