Deep Sleepers To Stream For Week 11

Bye-week absences galore ...

Week 11 is a bye week with some significant fantasy players out. The Buccaneers, Panthers, Giants, and Cardinals are off, meaning Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, Tyrone Tracy, Malik Nabers, James Conner, Chuba Hubbard, Trey McBride, and Cade Otton are among the players who need to be replaced.

You can, of course, use our Start/Sit tool to assist in these scenarios, but I’ve outlined some viable streamers for the weekend below:

Adam Ronis

QUARTERBACK

Russell Wilson (Pittsburgh Steelers)

This isn’t the typical Steelers-Ravens matchup that tends to be low-scoring. The Ravens offense is one of the best in the NFL and the Steelers offense has improved since Wilson took over at QB. In the three games with Wilson starting, the Steelers have scored 28, 26, and 37 points, respectively. Wilson has passed for 737 yards with 6 TDs, and the Ravens have struggled against the pass. Baltimore has allowed the second-most fantasy points to quarterbacks, having allowed 8 of 10 to pass for at least 269 yards while allowing 21 total passing touchdowns.

He was the main QB upgrade in Dwain’s Week 11 fantasy football rankings, too.

RUNNING BACK

Audric Estime (Denver Broncos)

Estime saw his role expand last week. There were some whispers the last few weeks that Estime would get more involved in the offense, and it finally happened. The rookie from Notre Dame had 14 carries for 53 yards last week in a difficult matchup against the Chiefs, who allow the fewest fantasy points to RBs. Only Jordan Mason (58) has rushed for more yards against Kansas City this season. It doesn’t appear Estime will catch a lot of passes, but he should be the featured back against the Falcons.

WIDE RECEIVER

Jerry Jeudy (Cleveland Browns)

The Saints pass defense is a weakness and even more so with Marshon Lattimore gone. Jameis Winston gets to go up against his former team and will come out aggressive, as the Saints allowed 306 passing yards last week. In two games with Winston, Jeudy has been targeted 19 times and caught 12 passes for 152 yards. Cedric Tillman is an obvious start and Elijah Moore has a good matchup in the slot, too. The Browns passing game will produce.

TIGHT END

Will Dissly (Los Angeles Chargers)

Dissly has at least 5 receptions in three of the last four games. In the last five games, he has 24 receptions. The Chargers have started to pass the ball more and will need to against the Bengals. The Bengals have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points, the fifth-most receptions, and sixth-most yards to tight ends.

WEEK 11 ROUNDTABLE

Week 11 Expert Roundtable: Kicker Problems, Thanos Snaps, and More

by Cooterdoodle

In this week's roundtable, we bring in DLF's Mike Faiella (aka @daddyshomeff); Jake Trowbridge of Fantasy Life; and our resident kicker ranker, Linda Godfrey.

Let’s get into it:

Pop culture time.

Can you give some inspiration to all the fantasy teams that are rolling into Week 11 with losing records?

  • But … I want you to do it while using a quote from The Office.

Jake: My advice is simple: When you're setting your lineup, think “Would an idiot do that?” And if they would, do not do that thing. (Please note, I’m not calling you an idiot. I just don’t want you to do idiotic things with your lineup.)

Mike: Now is the time to ask others for help because clearly, you have no clue what you are doing. And don’t feel bad about it, I get paid to do this and I still need a lot of help from others. People love to help others. When I reach out for help, my friends often say “I’m glad Michael’s getting help. He has a lot of issues, and he’s stupid.”

Linda: "I knew exactly what to do. But in a much more real sense, I had no idea what to do." — Michael Scott

And that’s how I tackle just about everything from fantasy football to parenting—we wing it. And if we’re wrong, we start over and we wing it again.

Cooterdoodle: "I am about to do something very bold in this job that I’ve never done before: try." — Jim Halpert

Look, losers. You have to keep trying. And if you haven’t been trying, then it’s time to do something bold that you’ve never done before.

WEEK 11 MATCHUPS

A Big-Play WR Set To Go Boom

by Chris Allen

Understanding matchups is one of the few remaining edges in fantasy football.

Like everything else, we can be wrong. A player doesn’t line up on a certain side of the field, or a specific defender plays better than the weeks prior. In other words, our projection of the environment can shift. However, when things go right, we can find players who can keep us winning.

It’s all about setting expectations for our fringe players. A.J. Brown, CeeDee Lamb, and Ja'Marr Chase should be (read: better be) in your starting lineup independent of the defense they’ll face. But for some of the guys we’re not as confident about, let’s use some data to see if they’re worth a start in Week 11.

Matchup to Target

Jameson Williams vs. Jaguars

Two larger storylines came out of Detroit’s comeback win in prime time last week:

  1. The Lions gutted out a huge win

  2. Jared Goff threw 5 interceptions? Yikes.

However, a third topic was Jameson Williams’ involvement in his first game back from suspension. To be fair, Sam LaPorta scoring on a well-schemed TD likely kept Williams out of the limelight. Regardless, Jameson’s involvement in the offense was as if he never left.

Williams has now accrued more air yards than Amon-Ra St. Brown in half of their starts together. And at an 18.0% share on the season, the third-year WR is more than a deep threat. However, if there ever were a defense for him to face, it’d be Jacksonville.

  • Yards per Game Allowed (on throws of 20 air yards or more): 66.4 (most)

  • Passing Success Rate Allowed: 44.1% (4th-highest)

  • Passing Touchdowns Allowed: 4 (3rd-most)

Per our DvP tool, the Jags are the third-best matchup for opposing QBs. Deshaun Watson and an injured Jordan Love are the only passers not to eclipse 200 yards against them. Anyway, Williams plays both sides of the field, but will draw CB Ronald Darby if lined up on the left. Against the Eagles, Darby single-handedly gave up 102 yards and a score, marking his third triple-digit contest on the season. Williams’ workload, even on a run-first team, should have him in your lineup. The matchup gives him a chance at a WR1 finish.
