Choose Your Own Adventure
So much to cover ...
The NFL has been a year-round enterprise for some time now, but I’m still always amazed at how much is going on at this time of the year.
Consider these options for every type of NFL/fantasy football fan …
Are you a DFS player who wants to get a jump on research or a Guilloteenie drafter placing waiver bids? You can dig into our projections for the Super Bowl, which are already live. Nothing will make you feel more alive than debating whether Mack Hollins (5.7) or Rashid Shaheed (5.7) is a better play.
Do you want to fast-forward all the way to drafting 2026 fantasy teams? We have a roundtable up with some early bold predictions (Ian is all aboard the Tuten train) and Dwain already called dibs on “his guys” for 2026 drafts (leave some Colston Loveland for the rest of us, please).
Are you a gossip hound who wants to eat up all of the latest NFL rumors and news? Chris Allen has his ear to the ground on all of the latest maneuvering.
Maybe you are a dynasty player who wants to level up their game? Jake has a piece with tips for making offseason trades (not being condescending to your trade partner is such a good tip).
Or perhaps you are obsessed with the NFL Draft? You are in luck because Matthew Freedman has a fresh 2026 Mock Draft (see below), which excitingly features five WRs in the first round. Not so excitingly? There’s only one QB in the top 32. Woof.
And lastly, maybe you are just an extreme ball knower who wants to dig into coaching and scheme? Gene has you covered with these offensive coordinator ratings. The Mike McDaniel hire is my favorite of the entire offseason.

NFL Rumors: Does Anyone Want to Coach Jalen Hurts?
We know that the NFL is a 24/7/365 business and it continually keeps its collective foot on the gas pedal to make it a fountain of news year-round for NFL fans and fantasy managers alike. Chris Allen took on our weekly NFL news and rumors roundup, and one of the gems he uncovered is that people are shying away from the Eagles OC job, even though Jalen Hurts and a collection of talented skill players are already in-house:
“Philadelphia has interviewed eight different people, with two (Brian Daboll and Mike McDaniel) already getting their seats at another table in the league lunchroom. The most-promising selection is Packers’ QB coach Sean Mannion, who already had a virtual interview and will head to the Eagles’ facility for an in-person discussion in the coming days.
“Since taking over as the starter in 2023, Jordan Love leads Hurts in passing success rate and EPA per play. More importantly, Love has attempted 46.3% of his passes to the middle of the field compared to Hurts’ 38.6%. Let’s hope Hurts will still have A.J. Brown to throw to in six months, but even a better approach to reading the field would be a welcome improvement.”
There is so much news and an equal amount of rumors, including plenty of talk about pass catchers being needed with multiple franchises.⤵️
NFL Draft
Freedman’s Latest NFL Mock Draft
This week may be the calm before the Super Bowl storm, but when it comes to college all-star games, we’re just getting started. The East-West Shrine Bowl was Tuesday, with the East prevailing, 21-17, as several players like RB Dean Connors boosted their draft potential. The Senior Bowl is Saturday in Mobile, Alabama, so we’ll see who moves up and down the draft board after that game.
Matthew Freedman has been following the NFL Draft intently, moving players up and down his draft board. He’s just released his most recent mock draft, and while Fernando Mendoza has remained locked in the top spot, there was movement around the first round. Like an added number of wide receivers. Always fun to dream on those landing spots. ⤵️
