Another Weapon For Justin Herbert?

And a TE1 whose ADP is way too low ...

With free agency winding down and the NFL Draft fully in sight, now it's time to wishcast our hopes and dreams onto these rookies in hopes that they may lead us to a fantasy victory.

Dream On These Landing Spots For Fantasy

Of course, because not all coaching staffs and organizations have OUR fantasy teams in mind when drafting (rude), we can only dare to dream about the best fantasy football landing spots.

So that's exactly what we are doing today! There are distinct top players at each position heading into the draft this year, with the running back class being the deepest talent pool we've seen in a while.

Where would we HOPE these rookies go to possibly secure us a monster fantasy season? Let's dive in …

Ashton Jeanty, RB

Adam: Only two running backs have been selected in the first round in the last three years (Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs), and Jeanty is a lock to be the third, which indicates how coveted he is. As a Cowboys fan, Jeanty would be a great pick. The Cowboys need a game-changer at the running back position. I don’t see Jeanty making it to Dallas. The Raiders take Jeanty, and it’s fine for fantasy with Pete Carroll and Chip Kelly.

Kendall: If there's one thing we know about Pete Carroll, it's that he likes to build around a backfield. With Geno Smith in town, they no longer need to worry about snagging a quarterback, so I believe Jeanty will be wearing that silver and black in 2025. There's not much depth in that room with Raheem Mostert, Sincere McCormick, and Zamir White, and we know from Dwain's Rookie Super Model just how damn good Jeanty is. GO GET HIM, PETE (Carroll, not Overzet).

Colston Loveland, TE

Adam: Loveland is a good route runner and moves more like a big wide receiver. One of the best fits for him is the Colts. Indianapolis hasn’t had much tight end production over the last few seasons. The tight ends had 467 receiving yards last season. Adding a productive tight end is what the Colts need.

Kendall: Trying to be a little different here, but I do agree that Colston Loveland would be a great fit with the Colts. I think Indianapolis will pull the trigger with Tyler Warren, though, and if they do, then I think the Michigan men are reunited! Let's send Loveland into this Chargers offense that still needs some weapons for Justin Herbert. I know they signed Will Dissly and Tyler Conklin, but he will easily jump those two on the depth chart.

Tetairoa McMillan, WR

Adam: The Cowboys have several needs, but they need help on offense. The receiving corps has lacked a good No. 2 opposite CeeDee Lamb. Dak Prescott needs more help, and getting a big, physical receiver would help and give him a good target share immediately.

Kendall: Are we going to ignore the fact that Adam Ronis added the Cowboys to two of our rookie landing spots? Come on! But I couldn't agree more with Tetairoa McMillan landing with the Dallas Cowboys. I think if Jeanty is off the board that this running back class is deep enough to find someone later. McMillan is the WR1 in this class, and if they are able to get Prescott more help besides Lamb, then they should absolutely do it.

Tyler Warren or Colston Loveland? Who’s No. 1 In Thor’s TE Rankings?

Both Tyler Warren and Colston Loveland took star turns on the national stage in the past two seasons, Loveland helping Michigan to the 2024 national title while Warren opened eyes during Penn State’s semifinal run this January. Now that they are both taking the next step, there are plenty of mock drafts that have each going in the first round.

Thor Nystrom completes his skill-position rankings series with the tight ends. Who’s higher between Warren and Loveland? They have big shoes to fill after Sam LaPorta and Brock Bowers shined so brightly for tight ends the past two seasons. And there are plenty of others who could contribute in the years ahead.

Grab Your Barbell, We’re Drafting Tight Ends

You would think with Travis Kelce inching to retirement, Mark Andrews tumbling out of the early rounds, and Kyle Pitts getting memory-wiped by the fantasy community that we'd be looking at a bleak landscape for the tight end position in 2025.

But thanks to a solid incoming draft class and a couple of emerging superstars, the position feels stronger and deeper than ever.

Peter Overzet is approaching the position with a barbell, and not just because he occasionally “forgets” to wear sleeves on his streams. The position is so deep this year that there’s league-winning upside at both the beginning and end of drafts.
