Add This Week 6 Waiver Wire Gem

A diamond in the rough?

Hopefully you survived (or thrived) thanks to the Josh Allen, James Cook, and Puka Nacua fantasy explosions in last night’s MNF barn burner.

We’re onto Week 6, though…let’s talk waivers.

Most waiver wire pickups fall into two buckets:

1) a short-term plug-and-play option with very little future value
2) a long-term stash who offers very little current value

It’s rare to find a waiver gem who checks both of those boxes. I think you could argue that Ollie Gordon fit that bill two weeks ago, and I think you can say the same about Steelers rookie WR Germie Bernard in Week 6.

Here’s are a few reasons why he’s easily the best pickup of the week:

Germie is definitely the Week 6 gem to target, but there are other options as well.

Unknown Number Calling? It’s Not Random

The BBC caught scam call center workers on hidden cameras as they laughed at the people they were tricking. One worker bragged about making $250k from victims. The disturbing truth? Scammers don’t pick phone numbers at random. They buy your data from brokers.

Once your data is out there, it’s not just calls. It’s phishing, impersonation and identity theft. That’s why we recommend Incogni: They delete your info from the web, monitor and follow up automatically, and continue to erase data as new risks appear. ⛓️ If your QB is sitting this week, look out for Kirk O. Chainz.

🫰 210 pass yards, 121 rush yards, 2 TDs & 31.5 fantasy points. Josh Allen is inevitable.

🩸 Or you can drop this QB. Maybe he’ll have the Maye effect.

🤝 This WR has a hurt QB. He’s still a buy.

🐣 So many gave up on this RB. Were we just early?

🙌 Players just keep falling to injury. Some streaming options.

🤔 Is this TE more than a streamer? May become weekly starter.

⛓️‍💥 Has a running back graduated from handcuff to starter? Possible.

👄 Grab the football or your mouth guard? Crazy choice!

🎯 Kendall has some waiver wire targets. Get your bids ready.

☝️ We have a new receiving TD leader since 2021. Quite the chase.

🤩 If he keeps this up, they’ll call him Primetime Puka.

No. 1 Takeaway From The Week 6 Utilization Report …

Isaiah Likely: Enters High-End TE1 Territory

Likely went through a rough patch in Weeks 2-3 with 8.3 and 3.3 PPG, driving a buy-low recommendation heading into Week 4.

Since then, fantasy points have followed the Utilization, as they often do. In the last two games, Likely has scored 13.6 and 32.4 points. He leads all NFL TEs with a 30% target share. Likely ranks third in Utilization Score (95) and PPG (17.1).

Likely is averaging 9.4 targets (3rd) and 69.6 air yards (2nd) per contest. Since 2011, here are the TE seasons from players that reached 8.5 targets and 65 air yards per game:

  • Darren Waller (2020): 17.5 PPG

  • Delanie Walker (2015): 16.2 PPG

  • Jason Witten (2012): 14.5 PPG

  • Jimmy Graham (2011): 18.4 PPG

  • Jimmy Graham (2012): 15.8 PPG

  • Jimmy Graham (2013): 19.0 PPG

  • Mark Andrews (2021): 17.5 PPG

  • Travis Kelce (2018): 18.5 PPG

  • Travis Kelce (2020): 20.8 PPG

  • Travis Kelce (2022): 18.6 PPG

  • Trey McBride (2025): 18.6 PPG

  • Zach Ertz (2018): 17.5 PPG

  • Zach Ertz (2019): 14.4 PPG

That is a great list. And the Utilization Score (95) paints a similar picture—his historical comparisons since 2020 averaged 16.8 PPG, with 100% finishing as a top-3 TE.

The nitpicks with Likely's rest-of-season outlook:

  • Jameis Winston could get benched at some point for J.J. McCarthy. But at 4-1-1, there is a decent cushion.

  • The Giants rank 27th in DBOE (-5%), which could cap Likely's target upside compared to the Raiders (-1%) and Cardinals (1%).

  • New York has dominated time of possession (32.7 minutes per game). That is a very volatile stat for high-variance offenses like the Giants.

That said, Bowers and McBride face similar QB questions. We could see Fernando Mendoza and Carson Beck at some point. The biggest difference is that Bowers and McBride were better prospects and have a longer track record of excellence at the NFL level.

Likely ascends to high-end TE1 status in a mini-tier behind Bowers and McBride. He sits right next to George Kittle.

Week 6 DST Streamers: Chiefs Among Them

Say you have the Minnesota Vikings DST on your fantasy roster. Pretty happy with them, huh? Nothing like passing on hyped-up defenses like the Texans and Rams to get the DST1 in the Brian Flores-led unit. But in Week 6, they have a bye. Sigh. Who do we stream for a week?

Jonathan Fuller found just the squad that has a good pass rush, a defensive guru dialing up plays, the team is at home coming off a bye, and they’re facing a turnover-happy squad that’s been a mess offensively. Ready to stream?
