5 Players I'm Changing My Mind On

New info is here ...

We have finally entered the portion of the offseason where there are legitimate news nuggets.

Now, don’t get me wrong. There’s still plenty of fluff and plenty of hyperbole, but I’m starting to see the twinkle of actionable info within the steady drip of camp reports.

Here are a handful that caught my eye …

🚨 Time to panic on Alec Pierce? We’ve known for a while that Pierce was recovering from ankle surgery in March, but yesterday Stephen Holder of ESPN reported that he could be out “into training camp and even past the preseason.”

Action item: I was skeptical even before this, so I’m not touching him until he falls multiple rounds. I certainly prefer his teammate Josh Downs over him, as well as other WRs who go after him—Xavier Worthy, Jayden Reed and even a rookie like KC Concepcion. Let someone else catch the falling knife for now.

🤔 Are we drafting the wrong Seahawks backup RB? We know Zach Charbonnet is slated to miss a good chunk of the season (we have him projected for 5.5 games), which means the RB2 role alongside rookie Jadarian Price is up for grabs. I had been working under the assumption it would be FA signing Emanuel Wilson, but it sounds like George Holani has the inside track.

Action item: This could be a particularly valuable role if Price doesn’t earn the coaches’ trust. Stop selecting Wilson at the end of drafts and mix in some Holani.

💪 Cam Skattebo’s “electric” return to action. I had been proceeding cautiously with Skattebo in early drafts, but Harbaugh couldn’t stop raving about his return to the field.

Action item: I’m ready to start targeting this “tone-setter” in Round 4 going forward.

😵 Brandon Aiyuk is basically crashing out. He posted another Instagram video where he brags about fleecing the Niners for $50M. Bold strategy to taunt the team that you desperately want to release you.

Action item: I know everyone is penciling in Aiyuk to the Commanders still, but the Niners have no deadline to release him right now because he’s on the reserve/left squad list. Time to wait and see if he shows up to training camp. Keep fading for now in case this turns into a late-career Antonio Brown situation.

🥇 Is Tua the frontrunner for the Falcons job? They say there’s no competition, but it feels like Tua has the edge right now.

Action item: Hold off on touching (please don’t make a Michael Penix joke; you are better than that) either of these guys, but Tua only if you are in a pinch.

Time to Buy Jeremiyah Love Making The NFL Leap

Few things are as breathtaking and fun to watch as Jeremiyah Love hurdling over defenders during his Notre Dame days. Many of those jumps set him loose on long runs on the way to amassing 3,016 scrimmage yards and 40 TDs for this multi-talented weapon who is taking his talents to Arizona. He’s not yet 21, and appears to have as bright an NFL future as any of the players just drafted. Now it’s time for forward-thinking fantasy managers to act when Love’s available in fantasy drafts in the months ahead.

UNest works the same way. You don't wait until your kid is 16 to start building their financial future. You start now, when time is your single greatest advantage. A tax-advantaged investment account that grows with your child, set up in under 10 minutes. The long game is always the smartest play, on the field and off it.

🙌 All we want is good health for Malik Nabers. Can’t we have nice things?

📈 A rookie WR to keep an eye on. I’m intrigued … and drafting him.

💪 Josh Allen is a beast in the charity world, too.

🤫 Shh, don’t tell anyone about this breakout TE. Not Likely.

🔪 Who are you dropping in dynasty? Tough cuts.

Dynasty

The Last Dynasty Mock Draft This Year … Maybe

Has it really been more than a month since the NFL Draft? It has flown by, but that’s probably because we’ve been busy with rookie drafts to pass the time. And maybe even a best ball draft or two.

Now when it comes to dynasty, the format tells us everything about how those rookie drafts will go. If it’s superflex, quarterbacks fall just behind significant others and mothers in importance. In 1QB formats, signal-callers take their place just in front of kickers—please make Ian happy and don’t play in dynasty leagues with kickers.

Jake Trowbridge has foregone touching grass and some of his favorite hobbies to do a slew of mock drafts this offseason. Now that the weather is warming up, he’s going to go outside after dropping what he says is his last dynasty mock draft of the offseason. No promises on redraft mocks when August rolls around. ⤵️

Early ADP Values: Javonte Williams is a Bargain

What if we told you that you can draft a running back projected to reach 299 combined rush attempts and targets at the end of the third round? Smash that draft button, right? The way running backs are flying off draft boards already, it’s almost like we went 20 years back in a time machine. But not when it comes to Javonte Williams, who Justin Carlucci is seeing as one of the best ADP values in drafts:

Williams just kind of sticks out in this tier. He has the exact kind of high floor-ceiling combo we should feel great about. The Dallas offense is loaded, they play every home game in a dome, and the Cowboys added virtually nobody to the running back room this spring. ⤵️
