5 Lingering Week 5 Questions
While it’s been nice watching some of our offseason fantasy predictions come to fruition over the last month, I can’t help but torture myself with brand-new “what ifs.”
Here are my 5 lingering questions heading into Week 5:
Can the 0-4 Saints pull off their first win of the season?
After watching Seattle score 3 TDs against the Saints in the first quarter in Week 3 … To then watch New Orleans climb their way into a nail-biting 19-21 score in the fourth quarter versus the Bills in Week 4 … I've got whiplash.
And at this point, I have no idea what to expect out of this team on either side of the ball any given week.
But for the time being, with the Giants down one Malik Nabers (read: f*@&!), the Saints are currently projected to secure their first win of 2025 (-120 DK).
I don't want to get my hopes up or anything … But it sure would be nice to take this brown paper bag off. It's getting tough to breathe in this thing.
Can Garrett Wilson get his first multi-TD statline since October 2024?
The Cowboys have been getting absolutely slaughtered by … Everyone, really. They're allowing the most passing yards per game across the entire league. And they're allowing 49 (!!!) fantasy points per game to WRs.
Week 3: CHI scored 4 passing TDs against DAL
Week 4: Romeo Doubs caught 3 TDs against dem boys
Week 5: Garrett Wilson, it's your turn now, sweetie!
The TDs should be coming. Let's just hope the Jets don't find another way to live up to Breece Hall's summation of their season thus far. Oof.
Will the Lions force the Bengals to make "the" call?
Would ya look at that. The Lions are doing juuuust fine without Ben Johnson after all. In fact, they've scored 34 points (or more) in all but one game this season. And now, they have the opportunity to put another dirty little nail in Cincinnati's metaphorical coffin.
Through four weeks, the Bengals' defense is allowing:
It's going to be a blood bath. It’s going to be a free for all. It’s going to be a "Stop! Stop! He's already dead!" meme-fest.
Only one question remains: Will CIN finally make the call to the Giants to trade for a new QB after securing only 1 passing TD through the last two weeks?
Follow-up: With their o-line problems, would it even matter?
How will Arizona's backfield shake out?
James Conner on IR. Trey Benson on IR.
I'm tired, Grandpa!
Yes, I've heard all the noise on this backfield. Everyone has some small data sample to back up their stance on who will benefit most in the absence of Conner and Benson. But with an easy matchup versus the Titans in Week 5, the Michael Carter/Emari Demercado/Bam Knight arguments will soon be answered.
Did we all waste our FAAB on the wrong ARI RB? Or was the answer always: D. None of the above.
Stefon Diggs’ revenge game: Show Off or Side Eye?
It's here! The Josh Allen/Stefon Diggs reunion is here! And oddly enough, it was almost exactly one year ago today that we watched the infamous post-game side-eye between Diggs and Allen last October.
And who can blame him for that nasty look? After Diggs' six consecutive 1,000+ yard seasons 2018-2023, he’s hit a bit of bad luck. With team changes and injuries, Diggs hasn’t been able to return to those 1k numbers since parting ways with the Bills after their final season together in 2023.
But that's all in the past. Diggs looks to capitalize on the reunion in Week 5, after hitting his first 100-yard game last week against the Panthers. (His first since October 2023, by the way.)
Will we get a glimpse of Stefon’s Side-Eye 2.0 or can Diggs show off in Buffalo on Sunday? Either way, it might Ruin the Friendship.

Week 5 WR/CB Matchups: T-Mac Ready to Roll Miami
Maybe there is a silver lining in the Panthers’ rough start to the season. Tetairoa McMillan may just be as good as advertised, which is saying something about the No. 8 pick in the most recent draft. But with at least 8 targets in each of his first four games, is he heading into a dream matchup against the Dolphins?
Chris Allen has taken a hard look at the week, and he’s uncovered a few of the top wide receiver/cornerback matchups for Week 5. He’s even calling for the delayed breakout for one of the top rookies from 2024. ⤵️

Week 5 Mismatches: Josh Allen and the Patriots Takedown
To say that the QB1 in fantasy points per game is going to have a big game may be easy. Then again, Josh Allen’s matchup against the Patriots may just be so tasty that it deserves a hearty writeup in Ian Hartitz’s weekly Mismatch Report. It’s that good a matchup for the all-world QB.
Ian is back with his review of the players with some pretty lopsided advantages—and some with disadvantages. Plus, his overview of Cowboys-Jets will make you want to start just about any player possible from that game. ⤵️
