2 WR Adds Who Tickle My Fancy

Week 14 waivers...

At this point in the season, I think we are all starting to lose our minds a little bit.

When asked about his level of confidence in the Chiefs right now, Andy Reid said yesterday:

"We're gonna try to tickle your tonsils on every play, every game, that's the attitude we're coming in with."

I’m not really sure what that means, but it certainly feels like a threat coming from this man:

Anyway, if you’re still mining the waiver wire in Week 14:

1) Congrats on being in the playoff hunt
2) And like Andy, we’re gonna try to tickle your tonsils with every waiver wire gem, every pick up, that’s the attitude we’re coming in with …

Kendall has the full rundown for here, but let me spotlight two meme-friendly WR adds …

👕 Rip off your shirt for Luther Burden. Burden didn’t stuff the boxscore on Black Friday, but in Week 13 he tied Rome Odunze for the most targets (6) and has increased his targets per route run every week since the team came out of the bye. They’re hungry for some hot dogs in Chicago, and WE’RE HUNGRY FOR MORE BURDEN.

🥤 Join the “Coke Head” crew. After his 17.4 fantasy points vs. the Rams (4-74-1), Panthers WR Jalen Coker told reporters that he hoped the “Coke Heads” were “lit.” Jalen, if you’re reading this, I can confirm that we are most definitely lit (even if it’s a downer that you are on bye in Week 14). At least the Saints in Week 15 look like a solid matchup for our hero.

About Last Night …

Another night on the national stage for the New England Patriots, and another step forward for Drake Maye as one of THE quarterbacks in the NFL. Completing 24-of-31 passes for 282 yards and a pair of scores, Maye continued his stellar sophomore season with a 33-15 win over the Giants on Monday Night Football. More highlights from last night:

The #1 Utilization Takeaway From Week 13 Is …

1. Christian Watson is pushing for WR2 fantasy status.

Watson returned to the lineup six weeks ago after spending the first half of the season rehabbing from a Week 18 torn ACL in 2024. Over the last four games, he has worked his way into a near full-time role. Over that span, he has a 73 Utilization Score, scoring 13.8 points per game (PPG).

We are still dealing with a small sample, but the former second-round pick is playing some of the best football of his career. Over the last month, he registered a 2.27 yards per route run (YPRR) with a 26% target share—those are both WR1-level marks. While he continues to see deep targets with an 18.3 aDot and racks up air yards (119 per game), he is also Jordan Love's favorite target on third- and fourth-down plays, with a 41% target share.

His historical Utilization Score comparisons have averaged 14.4 points, with 69% notching a top-24 finish.

  • WR1 to WR12 performers: 13%

  • WR13 to WR24 performers: 56%

  • WR25 to WR36 performers: 29%

  • WR37 to WR48 performers: 3%

The Packers' WR corps could become more crowded over the coming weeks with the return of Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden. It will be interesting to see if Watson can maintain an 80% route participation rate. He offers a skill set that no other WR on the team has—he can attack every level of the defense and can score from anywhere on the field.

Watson UPGRADES to high-end WR3 territory and offers WR2 upside.

Early Week 14 Rankings: Is Lamar Jackson Close?

Yes, it hasn’t been pretty of late for Lamar Jackson. Three straight games under 8.0 points is enough for fantasy managers to hyperfocus on every step and throw that the two-time MVP makes to find some granule of evidence that Jackson is not 100% healthy. Only don’t get loco and sit him down just yet, or drop him too far in the rankings. Ian Hartitz wrestles with the quandary:

“So what should we expect moving forward? Well, the first-place Ravens (obviously) still have plenty to play for, and upcoming matchups against the Steelers (28th in fantasy points per game allowed to QBs) and Bengals again (27th) don't exactly profile as terrifying spots. As much as Jackson's rushing output is less than ideal, his average of 8.1 yards per pass attempt is still good for the second-highest rate of his career—and third-best mark in the NFL.”

Ian shares his thoughts on which players are moving up and down in his Week 14 early rankings, all with an eye toward helping you make the best decision with the fantasy playoffs on the line.⤵️
