2 Very Difficult WR Decisions

Start/sits for Week 1

We’ve arrived.

Having games on Wednesday and Thursday was nice, but today is what it is all about.

13 games. RedZone. Early bragging rights. Ecstasy. Agony.

Here’s everything you need to know before kickoff …

Two extremely tough WR calls. Things are mostly clean on the injury front, but there are two tricky decisions to make at WR:

🤷 Malik Nabers was a full practice participant on Friday, but is still listed as questionable. He implied that missing the game is a real possibility, and he hasn’t made a decision yet. This is particularly tricky because the Giants don’t play until SNF.

How to play it? We currently have Nabers ranked as a low-end WR2, but I would only gamble if you have a strong backup plan (maybe something like Courtland Sutton or Xavier Worthy going on MNF). Otherwise, you just can’t run the risk of a zero in Week 1.

🤷‍♂️ Rome Odunze is questionable with a calf injury, but he does say he plans on playing. He’s our WR31, so you could certainly justify sitting him if you have another solid option in that range.

🤮 The Falcons QB situation is a mess. Michael Penix is out. Tua is out. Cooper Rush is dealing with back spasms (and is expected to start). You are starting Bijan Robinson and Drake London because you don’t have a choice, but this is a spot to avoid otherwise. Atlanta has moved to 6.5-point road dogs to the Steelers.

💔 It’s tough to trust Jeremiyah Love. The good news is it sounds like he’s going to play; the bad news is that it’s hard to project him for a bunch of snaps. This is also a late-afternoon game (4:25 PM ET kick), so make sure you play this safely. FWIW, I’m leaning toward playing Matthew Golden over him as my FLEX in a high-stakes league.

😯 Ted Hurst is a sneaky Week 1 sleeper. With Jalen McMillan (knee) doubtful, the rookie will get plenty of burn in the highest-scoring game environment of the week. He should be rostered everywhere, even if you don’t plan on starting him.

🤝 A plug-and-play TE. ICYMI, Brock Bowers is out. That means Michael Mayer is firmly on the menu as a fringe Top 12 TE play.

I highly recommend checking out our ranks for any other last-minute start/sit decisions. Good luck today!
